Colledimezzo can be a good option for a day trip if you are coming from Abruzzo. If you have your own car, you should be able to reach it in about two hours’ drive. When you get there, be sure to explore attractions like the Chiesa di San Rocco, Belvedere II Colle, and Castelle D’Avalos.

One of the top attractions in Colledimezzo is the Church of St. Giovanni Apostolo from the 18th century. It features Carlo Piazzoli’s stucco decorations, and Donato Teodoro’s paintings and frescoes. The church is also home to one of Abruzzo’s most famous and highly important paintings: the Madonna and Child, the Donor, and St. Francis of Assisi by Tanzio da Varrallo.

Ancient artifacts have been found at Fiumano and Cirone nearby. They were discovered to have been around since the second century BC. Colledimezzo was first mentioned in the 12th century, and for centuries, the town belonged to the d’Avalos, Di Capua, and Caldora families.
